Hello every one. I just joined and as my mom raised me a polite boy i think it's only right to introduce myself a bit.
So the basics, I live in Antwerp, Belgium. 41 years old
I got to know DCD when a friend got me the first This Mortal Coil album for my 18th birthday. I didn't know any of the people or bands on that album except for the Cocteau Twins and man, the first time I heard Dreams Made Flesh I was just blown away.
Other music I listen to includes David Sylvian, Morrissey, Kate Bush, Björk but basically i can enjoy any kind of music except for reaggea and metal. I have been known to download a Britney Spears song (and actually paying for it )
I love photography. This started when my husband and I lived in the UK for a few years in the early 00's. I picked it up to keep friends and family updated on what we were up to but i hope i have developed a little bit since then. I have a small website for those interested (dont expect any great pieces of art though) The link is www.yvonoukens.com
Ok, I've got to leave it here for now. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all, in the mean time have a wonderful Xmas

Welcome Yvo. You kind of lost me on the Britney Spears bit, but the other musicians you love make up for it
You've got some beautiful photography on your site...congrats! |

Welcome, it's never late to join.
Music is a sanctuary, as well as image for me, DCD and Lisa's music is known to have cinematic quality.
I was fortunate to get a copy of Black Opal by Lisa Gerrard as a Chrismas gift, it's a masterpiece. If you ever think again to pay for a music download and don't have Black Opal yet, it's available here - delay no more!
Wishing well,
Param |

Hello!
First time I would like to say a very loud THANK YOU for kc28kenneth. He helped me in my technical problem.
And of course I'm very grateful for activate my account . Thank you DCDlibrary!
Let me introduce myself.
I'm Andrew from Hungary. I started to listening Dead Can Dance 10 years ago.
I'm collecting CDs and LPs...so I try to buy everything from my favourite bands (like The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Mission UK, Depeche Mode, Nirvana...etc).

So why is this Andrew infiltrating my thread???
Just kidding of course.
Thanks to those for welcoming me to this site. I've been reading this forum off and on for about a year but never really felt like joining. Glad I did now tho I feel I should try and make time and post more. Thing is me and some friends are busy starting up a new business so that's taking up a lot of my time right now. I'll try and do better in the future...
To KC28kenneth... haha... I put Britney's name here thinking not many people would expect it to pop up on this Forum.
I'm not of her hard core fans (eg I wouldn't dream of joining the Forum on her website - if she has one, I can't be bothered to check) I was just trying to make clear I like different kinds of music depending on the mood i'm in.
Looking forward to getting to know you all a little better. |

No problem at all. Who am I to dictate what people like or don't like? But you know I was only being friendly. I'm also glad you like it here |
